KARACHI: K-Electric along with law-enforcement agencies conducted an anti-theft drive in Bin Qasim and theft of approximately Rs4.2 million was determined via 130 different cases.

According to KE spokesman, the teams raided different locations in Gulshan-e-Hadeed. The power company conducts such drives in all parts of the city and its outskirts where illegal connections and cables are pulled down, confiscated and the miscreants penalized.

The raids were mostly conducted in residential areas whereas some commercial and industrial locations were also checked. 48 commercial connections were involved in illegal abstraction of electricity and these commercial consumers were penalized on the spot. Illegal connections were pulled down in the vicinity and associated consumers were given notices to clear their dues and penalties.
