Opposition voices concern over frequent load-shedding in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: The opposition in the National Assembly expressed its serious concern on Thursday over prolonged power outages in Karachi and the members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) staged a walkout from the House in protest against hours-long load-shedding.

Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah said that the people of Karachi are in miserable condition due to long hours of load-shedding in the city. He said that it is responsibility of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to resolve the issue of prolonged load-shedding in Karachi. “K-Electric is not running oil units of plant and saving money,” he said.
