PARIS- German spot power contract for day-ahead delivery soared on the wholesale market on Thursday on the back of forecasts showing a sharp drop in wind electricity generation.

* The German baseload spot power price for Friday delivery gained 11.75 euros to 52.75 euros ($65.22) a megawatt-hour (MWh).

* Electricity production from German wind turbines is expected to decline by over 13 gigawatts (GW) day-on-day on Friday, according to one forecast.
